I have used the first lesson and it was great! For the first time ever I did not have any students say "I can't write." I did have to tweak a liitle after the first day with a set time to draw, color, and write, since. several got stuck on drawing details, which I have to say I got a lot of detail. Yay! I Plan on incorporating tuck a topic in your pocket and I can write a book. While we do a lot of book making in k I had such success with lesson 1 I plan to follow the books suggestions more closely.
We have been doing lots of "letter" writing. I have told the kids they can use some "curly" writing, but to use more letter writing and to even try book writing. All I can say is "wow!" They are really putting forth a great effort. LOTS and LOTS of letters on the page. I'm excited to see how well they transition to book writing as we get further along in the year. This week I plan on trying the sticky dot details, so they can begin elaborating more on their work. Eventually I want to incorporate the 5 Finger Planner and turn it into a story.
